Over the past few months our friend Ryan Reed’s son, Slate, has been diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This is a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration that can lead to major heart problems and respiratory failure. According to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, in Europe and North America, the prevalence of DMD is approximately 6 in 100,000 individuals. We’re hopeful that with advancements in research and medicine, a solution to this horrible disease may be found. Currently, the Reed Family are making regular 10+ hour trips to Duke University to see doctors who specialize in DMD.
This raffle is to help support our community friend and his family during this trying time.
